Equal rights for both landlords and tenants

Petition Details

As a landlord, we pay income tax on property income, we pay council license to be a great landlord, we care about our tanent needs and put it in our top agenda, we pay agent. However when tanent don't pay, don't leave, we can not do anything without incurred huge legal fees. We need equal rights.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a new petition asking for a specific change to the law about landlords' rights relating to evicting tenants or reclaiming unpaid rent from tenants, if that's what you want to happen.
