Petition Action

Hold a referendum asking the British people if they would like to join the EU.

Petition Details

Theresa May says Brexit is inevitable, and a second referendum on LEAVING the EU would be undemocratic. But as people begin to see the impacts of May's exit plan, polls show opinion has shifted in favour of EU membership since the June vote.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The UK has not yet left the EU, so it is not clear how a referendum could ask this question.

If you would like a second referendum, you may wish to sign this petition:

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/133753

Otherwise, you could start a new petition explaining clearly what question you would like a referendum to decide.
