Petition Action

Increase minimum wage to £8.50 per hour

Additional Information

Help combat underpayment of employees wages to enable the UK workforce to be able to live affordably in society.
The new increase in VAT and the cost of living has risen to £70 per day for an adult and £10 per day for a child included all expenses that need to be payed in every household.
This proportioned anually can only be covered by a minimum wage increase to £8.50 per hour, which would enable all households to not only afford to live, eat, pay rent and household costs, but would also increase consumer spending on all goods which would give money back to the UK`s economy as people could afford to have insurance and pay debts and buy other needed goods, this would enable more homes to be bought, more consumer spending and combat the UK`s unpaid debts.
If minimum wage was increased all of these objectives could be achieved.
