Increase the price of Tobacco/Cigerettes
As a followup to the smoking ban, i propose the gradual increase of the cost of tabacco products, to encourage smokers to give up the product - particularly in these financially trying times.
My girlfriend is currently spending approx 30 pence per cigarette, if this were increased to say 50 pence, i believe a lot more smokers will be encouraged to give up.
simply introducing an outright ban, as some petitions suggest, will not work, it has to be the smokers decision to give up.
