Increase wages for carers of the elderly, disabled, and special needs.

Petition Details

Across the UK there are many valuable care workers who help to care for the elderly and disabled which are a vital lifeline for those they care for and their families. These carers provide care, companionship, and day to day help. Carers are paid low wages for the job they do which is not on.

Additional Information

The majority of carers, especially in private sector companies are only paid the living wage (£7.20) which is not good enough considering the care they provide, the amount of work they do and their experience.

We cannot accept your petition in its current form as it does not include a clear action for either the UK Government or Parliament. Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

You could start a new petition asking the Government set carers wages at a specific level.
