Petition Action

Investigate Highways England, Bus Gate scheme at Moor Farm (A19), Cramlington.

Petition Details

Tacked onto a housing development 4.5 miles away in Newsham, Blyth. Highways England would only remove their objections to the project if the "Bus Gate" scheme at Moor Farm roundabout on the A19 was funded as part of this development. No local consultation took place, not even with local council.

PROPOSED SCHEME BUS ONLY A1171 ARM
Drawing Number: MFGHF-001

Moor Farm Roundabout to B1505 and A1171 Cramlington

This development will cause mayhem within the local community, forcing residence to find alternative roots and causing traffic jams in other areas, one of them round the newly built A&E hospital in East Cramlington.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

The decision to give planning consent for housing in Blyth is the responsibility of Northumberland County Council. You could raise your issue with a local councillor, who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them:

You could also raise this issue directly with Highways England. You can find out how to make a complaint here:
