Petition Action

Make it illegal to upload a video to YouTube filmed from a TV

Additional Information

We the undersigned call on Her Majesty's Government to deal with one of the most pressing issues of our time: people uploading videos to YouTube that have been filmed from a TV.

Not for any of those nonsense reasons like copyright, just for the sanity of anyone who cares about video and audio quality.

You think you’ve found that clip you’ve been searching for... but then you find some muppet has just filmed it from their telly on to their Wasp T12 Speechtool phone, thinking this will somehow enrich the internet. Here’s a clue: it won’t.

Offenders should be punished by having all TV channels in their house replaced with versions of the channel, but filmed from another TV using a shaky poor-quality smartphone.
