National Trails Accessible by Public Transport
Britain has a beautiful countryside, and everyone should have access to the benefits of our National Trails. The benefits of spending time on National Trails should not be left to those who use personal vehicles. Access for everyone to take advantage of National Trails should be facilitated by improving public transportation links to National Trails.
This e-petition has been rejected with the following reason given:
E-petitions cannot be used to request action on issues that are outside the responsibility of the government. This includes:
- party political material
- commercial endorsements including the promotion of any product, service or publication
- issues that are dealt with by devolved bodies, eg The Scottish Parliament
- correspondence on personal issues
E-petitions cannot be used for freedom of information requests.

Generally speaking, this will be a matter for the relevant local authority. If you want to petition for the upgrading of national networks to facilitate access to National Trails, you might want to resubmit the petition making this point clear.
