Petition Action

Parliament to improve current Mental Health Assessment criteria

Petition Details

Lack of proper assessments resulting in self harm and harming others; hurting families; no help or aid offered by NHS, crisis teams, social services, or police. So many cases have resulted in patients being discharged and then causing harm, injury, suicide or even killing someone.

Additional Information

Having had first hand experience of My son being told he has mental capacity as a bipolar patient and two hours later he is in hospital fighting for his life having tried to commit suicide. Even after that we got no help with him. Each department is passing responsibility to another. Someone has to die first before something is done.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. You could start a new petition explaining clearly how you would like mental health assessments to be improved.
