Petition Action

Pension Credit at 60

Additional Information

Pension Credit should be restored to people aged 60 and over, who are unemployed, as age discrimination although illegal is still widely practised among Employers, and older people have much less chance of finding a job than younger people. It is unjust that older people who have worked and paid into the system for most of their lives have to live on basic Jobseekers allowance, which is kept deliberately low to encourage people back to work. Those who want to work but are prevented from doing so because of age discrimination, should not have to live in poverty!
