Profiteering from Crime

Additional Information

A law should be passed that prevents anyone convicted of a crime actually profiting from it after the sentence is passed - i.e., selling stories, books, TV appearances, films, etc. At best, EVERY penny or cent 'earned' in such cases should be is given directly to charity by the production company, publisher, etc., to ensure that there is no way that the individual(s) can profit from such activities. They should also not receive any excessive ‘expenses’ in connection with such activities so there will be no ‘under the radar’ payments made or received.

At best they should receive a simple travel allowance that only covers the basic cost of the travel by the cheapest train fare or coach / bus fare possible and not be able to claim for flights, taxis, etc. They should also not be able to claim for excessive accommodation and meals such as hotels and restaurants but at best should be given a basic subsistence allowance if they actually do stay somewhere overnight.
