Remove the automatic right to strike for public sector workers
Public sector workers should not have the automatic right to strike.
While I support the principle of unions being to protect the individual worker, I cannot support the continual acts of holding the country to ransom.
When the tube drivers strike, they damage the economy costing £48 million to the economy every day it is shut (1) and those figures are from 2007 so i believe the real cost would be higher today
1st, enforce that the ballot must be 50%+1 to go to strike, the RMT have gone on strike at 29% before.
2nd, recreate the Taylor Law from New York city, wherein if an agreement cannot be reached then the union and TfL for example enters into binding arbitration where the arbiters decision is legally binding to both parties.
