Stop the MOD CUTS
Its been nearly 100 years since the start of World War 1, the British Army have suffered significant losses in Wars since.
World War 1 – 886,939 World War 2 - 383,800
Since 1969 in Northern Ireland – 763
Falklands War – 258
Gulf War 1 – 58
72 in the former Yugoslavian countries of Bosnia, Kosovo & Macedonia
Iraq War there was 179
Afghanistan War there is 422 and still rising.
The Government have stated they need to save £38 Billion in the MOD Budget, but yearly they spend £7-£10 Billion on foreign aid & £2 Billion in benefits to Foreign Nationals. This is our money.
82000 troops would not be able to manage in another a major War. This could happen with tensions arising in Argentina, Iran & Syria.
The calculations for the Libyan war put the cost of UK operations at well over £600-million, and arguably into the £1.25-billion-plus range. This has to come out of existing MoD reserves if Ark Royal hadn't been cut we would of saved.
