Stop police privatisation
It has come to light that plans are in place to hand over many policing duties in Surrey and the West Midlands to the private sector, including investigating incidents, detaining suspects, managing forensics and managing intelligence.
This must be stopped.
The public has no confidence in these private security services following previous failures (notably the fiasco of the London 2012 Olympics). Policing is too important to be left to profit-seeking firms, it must be kept in public hands.
