Ban Software Patents
The "digital age" and the "information economy" will only prosper in the UK if innovation is allowed to continue unimpeded by outdated copyright laws protecting software - specifically software source code.
We believe that copyright should not and cannot be applied to common and widespread software algorithms, software data structures, software development techniques and software development processes.
As witnessed in other countries - most notably the USA - software patents serve to stifle innovation and allows larger corporations to bully smaller companies with absurd copyright infringement notices. This cannot be allowed to happen in the UK.
