Petition Action

Community Service Punishment for Rioters and Looters

Additional Information

Judicial incarceration of the protagonsists if the recent riots is evidently a difficult task owing to prison over-crowding, and re-building the damaged towns will place an additional cost on the tax-payer.

On that basis, we petition the Government to adopt the following punishment on those convicted of participating in the riots.

1) All ill-gotten gains be confiscated so none proft from their criminal actions

2) All convicted participants be sentenced to community service in the form of assiting in the rebuliding and renovation of all damaged/destroyed properties as a result of the riots. Training will be given and the resulting work supervised by approved and qualified buliding contractors. The sentence will not be considered served until the buidings are completed.

This would ensure that none of the criminals profit from their behaviour, that all of the damaged buildings are restored, and all of this at minimal cost to the tax-payer.
