Protect Walkers using the Countryside from Death & Serious Injury
There are numerous cases of walkers enjoying the countryside and being attacked by livestock, particularly when walking with dogs. Another case has occured Aug15 with dog and walker both seriously injured. I myself have been chased by a Bull and Cow in a field with Calf and having a Public Footpath
Historical evidence of this is readily available from Internet Searches, RIDDOR records etc (one of which I raised myself) People enjoying the countryside, with Children or Dogs should be safe. It is the farmers or landowners DUTY to protect the public.
Where a public footpath crosses a field containing cattles, esp cows and mothers, bulls then a "safe zone" using electric wire, fencing or other should be provided. Safe & Easy to use Styles/Gates should also be provided on ALL public footpaths
