Petition Action

Amend the Act of Settlement, 1701 to remove all anti-Catholic provisions.

Petition Details

The rules of succession to the throne explicitly exclude Catholics from the throne. This is in violation to the principles of equality and freedom of religion. If there is ever a Catholic monarch s/he can appoint a C of E member of the royal family to act as Supreme Governor of the C of E.
