This site is a mechanism for the public to express their requirements for our democracy. It is not appropriate for responses from this government to these petition to be filtered through party political rhetoric and for debates to be blocked because they don't agree with your policy.
This government was elected by a small group of voters , these numbered less than those who didn't vote and less than the those who voted for other parties. This does not constitute an absolute mandate to act for that minority over the wishes of the majority of citizens.
If you wish to continue marginalising these petitions then please just shut the whole thing down.
If you care about respecting the direct voice of the people then do not block the discussion of issues raised in petitions.
