Petition Action

Replace the unelected House of Lords with an elected 2nd Chamber.

Petition Details

House of Lords is unelected and this is undemocratic. To regain confidence in our Democracy we need to scrap the present system and have elections under PR for a replacement for the House of Lords.

Additional Information

At present members of the House of Lords are appointed. As a result of this patronage the House of Lords is unrepresentative and also far too large and expensive. A democracy should not rely on historic relics and ensure that those granted the position to make or influence laws have been elected by the public who are influenced by the laws they pass.
