Petition Action

Make it law for Cetacean beings to be treated as non-human "persons"

Petition Details

Science shows that we are not the only species with the ability to experience individuality and consciousness; based on years of evidence showing human-like self awareness. The law must be adjusted so that the deliberate killing of of a cetacean is legally seen as murder equally as it is for humans.

Additional Information

We must make a stand now to protect the fact that every individual cetacean has the right to life, without captivity, cruelty, servitude or being taken from their natural environments.
Take action & deliver justice to the sickening sports such as drive hunting in the Faroe Islands, Peru & Japan, where 1000's of dolphins and whales are chased by boats into bays & butchered for "fun".
End the idea of watching creatures that are terrified and in distress; jump through hoops to the jeers of a crowd.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Your petition seems to be asking for action in the Faroe Islands, Peru and Japan. This is outside the direct responsibility of the UK Government and Parliament.

There are already petitions asking for the UK Government to urge the Governments of certain countries to take action against the killing of whales.

If you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action that is within their power, then you could start a petition about that.
