Why are the Police not getting the rights and pay they deserve?
The Police risk their lives to protect us but what for? To be told they can’t form unions? To lose out on jobs to private security firms like G4S? To be paid not nearly enough for the amount they are made to work? I don’t think so! So how have the government responded to this? MORE CUTS!
Since 2010 18,000 officers have lost their jobs due to cuts and in the next 5 years another 22,000 are expected to lose theirs too. This is wrong! The police should be given the right to form unions, they should be paid correctly for the work they do and they should have a stable pension to retire to. We also need stricter rules on private security firms. We need as a society to reform the bond we once had with the police and make this country a safer place for all! #LOVETHEPOLICE
