Britain must accept its fair share of refugees seeking safety in Europe
Thousands of people make the same crossing every day that Aylan’s family attempted on Wednesday. The UN’s refugee agency says that more than 300,000 have crossed the Mediterranean to escape conflict this year.
Millions of men, women and children are fleeing the Middle East and Africa to find safety in the West. We believes Britain must no longer turn a blind eye to their plight and must work with other European Union countries to set and welcome a quota of refugees.
