Riot Offenders Should Not be Evicted from Council Housing and Should Not Lose Benefits

Additional Information

We do not condone the violence, damage and looting that took place during the riots.

However, we understand that evictions and loss of benefits will only further isolate and impoverish offenders further, possibly leading to more unrest. It will also unfairly punish family members who had no hand in the riots.

We expect the government to think about why the rioters behaved the way they did rather than just pronouncing it 'unacceptable', and find constructive ways to heal the divides in our society.
