Establish permanent cultural landmarks of the Irish contribution to London
25% of Britain's citizens has Irish heritage. London has the biggest Irish population in 'County Kilburn', Camden & Shepherds Bush. The contribution of Irish Navvies to London has been immeasurable. For centuries Irishmen came to London for work in manual labour: their sacrifices need recognition.
While the men have been forgotten, railways roads dams and public utilities of Britain stand as monuments to their sacrifices and achievements.
But this is not enough. We need to get the government to set up permanent cultural monuments in Kilburn, Camden and Shepherd's Bush to record the Irish contribution to London.
To establish permanent landmarks would not only celebrate the past, they would serve as gathering points for newer Irish immigrants to brainstorm ideas to boost English industry.
