Don't Let The BBC Axe The Children's Educational TV Channel CBeebies.
Please stop the BBC from axeing the children's educational channel CBeebies.
Babies and pre-school children learn a lot from this channel such as how to count with 'The num tums', the importance of eating and how to grow fruit and vegetables with 'Mr Blooms Nursery' and even makaton sign language with 'Something Special'. The presenters also do a fantastic job teaching numbers, words and arts and crafts in between program's. This would be a great loss to children and parents if this channel was to be axed.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
This isn’t something that the UK Government or Parliament would be able to do. The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.
The Royal Charter is currently being reviewed. You could start a petition asking for the Government to ensure that these channels are protected from cuts during charter renewal.
