Ban usage of UCAS points as a means to filter candidates for graduate employment

Petition Details

As recent graduates: Many have tried to apply to graduate schemes at big companies, where they ask for UCAS points and disregard the degree grade as a way of filtering candidates. Government should intervene as UCAS points was not designed for firms and rather as a means of acceptance in university.

Additional Information

UCAS employees also agree with the notion that it is unfair to use this as a means to filter candidates as the tariff based system was not designed for use as a means of employability.

PWC agree with the notion that the usage of UCAS tariffs does not favour people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Source: http://www.pwc.co.uk/careers/student/applying/ucas-tariff-changes.html

It also does not favour people who had circumstances that are private and affected the students performance in college.
