Dental nurses need the pay to match their qualification not a shop assistant.
Dental nurse pay is too low with many on a couple of pence over minimum wage for a qualified job as a dental nurse. It cost indemnity and gdc registration fees of £116 a year to do this job and cpd also costs alot of money.
Dental nurses in practice have no benefits of nhs discounts pensions or incentives and are on pretty much half of a dental nurse who works in hospital for the NHS. It would be more cost effective for a dental nurse on around 7 pound an hour who then pays for courses, cpd, indemnity and GDC registration to give up there jobs to work in a supermarket. Something needs to change.
