UK PARLIAMENTARY DEBATE ON RULES OF ENGAGEMENT IN SYRIA

Petition Details

UK PARLIAMENTARY DEBATE ON RULES OF ENGAGEMENT IN SYRIA - CONSIDER PALMYRA‬ COULD HAVE BEEN SAVED BY US-LED COALITION BUT INSTEAD US-LED COALITION JUST WATCHED DUE TO RULES OF ENGAGEMENT LIMITING THEIR AIR STRIKES.

Additional Information

US-led coalition's rules of engagement for air strikes against ISIL in Syria are limited to not engaging at all when ISIL are engaging with Syria govt forces, or when territorial advantage will accrue to Syrian govt forces.

Hence Palmyra fell when ISIL overpowered Syria govt forces whilst US-led coalition watched.

Obama wants to extend rules of engagement to include defending US-trained anti Syrian govt forces against Syrian govt forces - DOES HE REALLY HAVE A MANDATE FROM MAJORITY OF SYRIANS?
