The UK should participate in an EU quota system for accepting refugees
Uniquely in the EU, Britain has refused to take part in the resettlement of the 120,000 and has a legal exemption from having to take part. The other two countries with similar optouts, Ireland and Denmark, are offering to participate.
Given the rapidly growing scale of the humanitarian crisis and the current struggle between EU states on a quota system, it would be strategically powerful for the UK to now opt-in to help share the burden.
