Free Schengen Tourist Visa for Indian citizen with UK Indefinite Leave To Remain
As an Indian national with indefinite leave to remain, I have to apply for Schengen visa to travel Europe. Being an avid traveller, I consider this as a deterrent for free movement of tourists on the basis of their nationality rather than their permanent residency.
The visa cost for a couple is 140 £ and I have heard stories about someone getting a visa for 7 days. I would like to appeal to European Union and UK government to reconsider their stand on this issue and ease the norms for Indian nationals wanting to travel to Europe as any other British citizen.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The UK Government does not set the price of Schengen visas. The policy on Schengen visas is set by the EU.
You could start a petition asking for the UK Government to encourage the EU to make the changes you would like to see.
