Close DVLA Swansea And Sell Off The Land & Buildings
Another ‘cut’ the coalition government should make is the complete closing of the DVLA at Swansea.
Most work is done by the Post Office and very little by the DVLA which have 5,000 people soaking up a considerable amount of money in wages every year, to do very little work any more.
Whatever little work the DVLA do can be transferred to the Post Office who can have a new ‘server farm’ installed with ‘back up’ tapes from Swansea.
This remote megalith at Swansea with considerable land and property once closed will allow the sale of parcels of land and buildings to the highest bidder raising billions for the treasury – one tower block alone cost £100 million to build.
To most people in the UK their local Post Office is far more ‘user friendly’ than the DVLA will ever be. Plus key documents will never have to be sent through the post with the danger of fueling yet more i.d. fraud if they go missing.
Plus the 'SORN' law should be repealed.
