Ease congestion on public transport, by modifying student time tables.
Rush hour public transport, particularly in the mornings, are becoming more and more of a horrendous necessity. Services already struggle to handle the sheer volume of people that rely on these services, with this issue exacerbated by the resumption of term timetables.
Student time tables should not begin at 9am, as this forces students who live off campus, to use public transport along with the rest of the working population. This puts further unnecessary strain on transport resources, packs out already over crowded buses or trains. A more staggered approach to the educational time table would surely help this issue for thousands, if not millions of commuters.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The specific timetables of colleges and universities are not the responsibility of Government or Parliament.
If there is a particular problem in your area, you could raise this directly with the institution concerned.
