To stop imprisoning people especially women who have a mental illness.

Petition Details

The majority of women in prison come from a background of abuse, They have not committed a violent crime and prison is totally inappropriate and unproductive.

Additional Information

The figures show that the majority of women in prisons have a history of being abused. Most have not committed a violent crime. Prison conditions aggravate poor mental health and make it so much harder to settle back into the community, often losing accommodation therefore being punished twice.
