To improve democracy in the UK through increased use of national referendums
Since 1975, there have only been 2 national referendums. The proposed referendum on UK membership to the EU will only be the third. We feel that greater use of referendums will improve democracy in the UK and help to make decisions legitimate and confirm the principle of government by consent.
