Stop the relocation of Ossett Royal Mail Delivery Services from Ossett to Batley
As a local Councillor it has been brought to my attention that Royal Mail are currently planning to move Ossett Delivery Services out of Ossett to Grange Road, Batley. Such a move would create hardship for many people, both customers and employees, as there will be no access via public transport.
The Royal Mail owns the whole of the building in Ossett, including the front which is currently used by Post Office Counters. If the Royal Mail do decide to leave and sell off the building, then our Crown Post Office in the centre of Ossett will disappear.
Ossett is a market town and a town of this size needs its Crown Post Office and its Delivery Services to be in the town.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
This is an operational decision for Royal Mail, which has been privatised. You could raise this issue directly with Royal Mail itself.
