Make the price of State Visits clear to the public
The government has introduced tax credit cuts which will affect 2.7 million working families in the UK and their 5.2 million children (according to a study using official figures published by HM Revenue & Customs by UNISON).
And, according to a study by the Resolution Foundation think tank, these cuts will put 200,000 children in poverty by 2016 and in some cases families could lose up to nearly 10% of their take home pay (£1000-£3000 annually).
Yet the government won't release a document stating the cost of State Visits and the public money spent funding these extravagant visits.
Taxpayers deserve to know how much of their money is being spent and has been spent on State Visits that don't directly affect them.
