Stinson Hunter Requests The Media Stop Using The Word Porn And Use Child Abuse

Petition Details

We (Stinson Hunter & His Followers) request that the media immediately stop using the word Porn & Pornography when relating to issues of child abuse.
This is not pornography, this is abuse and we wish that all UK media editors immediately stop using the terms ‘Child Porn’ and 'Child Pornography’.

Additional Information

We also think the words ‘Child Prostitution’ and ‘Underage Prostitution’ should also not be used. This term refers to victims and this is also abuse.
In addition to this we also would like to see these actions taken retrospectively.
We also feel that these terms should not be used in our countries law courts.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

This is a matter for media editors, about their editorial guidelines, and not for Parliament or Government. You could contact media organisations directly to make this suggestion.

If you would like government departments and agencies to stop using these terms, you could start a petition asking for that.
