Scrap renewal of Trident, and use the £167bn to mount a manned mission to Mars.
The cause of maintaining world stability is better served by an international effort to explore our nearest planetary neighbour than by mutually-assured destruction.
The costs of renewing Trident have skyrocketed: it should be scrapped, and the money used for real rockets - for a mission to Mars.
