Make Indonesia and multinationals take responsibility for forest fires.
Fire is raging across the 5000 km length of Indonesia threatening rare species. Companies burn the land to produce palm oil. We must pressure the Indonesians and multinationals to prevent these annual fires and sanction companies in the UK which buy resources that are products of this destruction.
In Borneo on September 15, A 9-year-old girl, Intan, collapsed on her way to school and was later pronounced dead. She died from inhaling soot particles. These fires are killing people and endangered species such as rhinos, orangutans and the Sumatran tiger. Until we stop buying products from companies which 'profit' from this destruction, it will continue. The UK must hold them to account.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to contain a clear request for action from the UK Government or Parliament. If you could start a new petition which explains more clearly and specifically what action you would like, we could look at this again.
