Make election manifestos legally binding documents.
Too often politicians will deliberately lie to the electorate in order to get elected. They make promises in their manifestos that they have no intention of honouring. Once elected the electorate are powerless to intervene. A broken manifesto commitment should immediately trigger a general election.
