As reported in the Independent: "Tory MP Philip Davies has blocked a law that would give carers free parking at hospitals by staging what appears to have been a 90 minute filibuster...
The MP told the Independent... last year... he was seeking to emulate an MP who blocked legislation “for fun”."

Additional Information

Filibustering is a despicable practice at the best of times.
It is quite simply the process of talking so much crap that progress is drowned in effluent.
There is no reasonable excuse for it and the practice has no redeeming features: society should not tolerate it.
The purpose of an MP is to represent his constituents and when his representation of them is so full of... at best, it is hot air, and at worst, I think the polite term is "excrement"; then we should have a mechanism to be rid of it.
