Demand a resignation from the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change
On 17th September 2015, the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change misled Parliament by stating that we were still meeting our binding EU targets on renewable energy. This is in contrast to her position in a leaked letter, admitting that the UK is not on course to meet those targets.
Government ministers are accountable to Parliament and should provide MP's with honest and accurate information about their decisions.
Climate change is one of the biggest threats to our planet and needs to be taken seriously. This includes meeting renewable energy targets. Failing that, the Government should explain why such targets haven't been met and take action.
She misled Parliament and the public on such an important issue. To honour her responsibility, she should resign her position.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The resignation of an individual Minister is not a decision for the Government or Parliament as a whole.
We could accept a petition calling for a vote of no confidence in a Minister, because that is something that the House of Commons could do. We already have a petition on these lines:
petition.parliament.uk/petitions/108494
Or you could start a petition asking the Government for a specific change in its policy.
