Petition Action

Banish the credit file system that is in place that's Keeping people in poverty.

Petition Details

For over 5 years the British public has had to rely on a credit file to obtain credit. This has now got out of hand and due to people missing a payment years ago or having a default stops people obtaining credit. The British people should have affordability checks not credit checks.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We're not sure what action you would like the Government or Parliament to take. Your petition seems to be asking lenders, and/or credit reference agencies, to change their practices.

If you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take action, you will need to start a new petition which asks clearly for the action that you would like. This needs to be on something that the UK Government or Parliament is responsible for.
