Review Current Anti Stalking laws in the UK to ensure they are fit for purpose
I believe that the police lack awareness of what powers they have in stalking cases. There needs to be a review of the law to ensure that it is effective.
According to https://www.gov.uk/government/news/tough-new-action-on-stalking-and-domestic-and-sexual-violence;
Two new stalking offences came into effect on Sunday 25 November 2012 as part of the protection of freedoms act 2012.
Police and prosecutors have been given special guidance and training on two new offences of stalking and stalking involving a fear of violence or serious distress.
Police have also been given new powers of entry to investigate stalking offences to help secure evidence.
