Petition Action

Benefit Claimants to Become Employees of their Council

Additional Information

Any person who has been claiming unemployment benefit for over 3 months must work for their local council for equivalent number of hours of their benefits received divided by the minimum wage set for their age. ie £67.50/£5.93 = 11 hours Community Contribution per Claimant. We have one and half million claiming jobseekers allowance many of which have lost the ethos to work many of which have skills that could help their local community. Benefits should not be free money. Let us the taxpayer stop paying people to stay in bed get out of bed and contribute to their community.......
