Royal Mail Customs Charge Handling Fee Too High
Royal Mail currently charge a Handling Fee of £8 when processing Customs Charges for items received from outside the EU.
This is not proportionate to what is sometimes a relatively small Customs Charge, and is not fair because the Royal Mail have a monopoly on the receipt of goods from overseas postage.
This petition proposes that the Handling Fee be revised to 10% of the Customs Charge, up to a maximum fee of £8.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
This is an operational decision for Royal Mail, which has been privatised. You could raise this issue directly with Royal Mail itself.
