Make cyclist identifiable and enforce the legal regulations that apply to them
I was knocked to the ground on a pavement ,with no cycle access or rights, and suffered broken wrist and elbow. The cyclist was there because he had no lights and declined to give name and address. I am self employed and know off work for a considerable time. Cyclist are unidentifiable
Urban cyclist repeatedly flout road rules and laws to the danger of others and themselves, largely because they are untraceable.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We're not sure what you mean by "make cyclists identifiable". If you would like Parliament to change the law - for example, to require cyclists to give their name and address in the event of an accident - you could start a petition calling for that.
In addition, enforcing the law is the responsibility of the police and the courts, not the Government and Parliament. If you think that the law should be changed or reviewed so that it is more easily enforceable, you could start a petition calling for that.
