change the health care screening legislation for care workers
Exposure Prone Procedure or epp is carried out for professionals that work within a hospital or some community roles. however this is not a requirement for care homes or community care. infection control is huge now within hospitals and care homes but this all important screening is not carried out.
If you have direct contact with patients or work around patients you should require immunity against Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR); Chicken pox and TB,Tetanus, Polio and Diptheria should have been completed. If your job exposes you to bodily fluids including blood, clinical or infectious waste you will also require immunity to Hepatitis B. This should be a requirement for care workers for the safety of the worker and the individual receiving care.
