To highlight the location of safety camera on Motorways.

Variable speed sections of Motorways have been enforced by speed camera’s for a number of years, these camera are clearly marked either in colour or road markings.

Additional Information

New “Smart Motorways” are being installed around the motorway network and drivers are being warned they could be prosecuted for exceeding the limit by 1MPH.
These new cameras are away from the motorist sight and are painted the same colour as the structures they are mounted to. If the Police wish to enforce a zero tolerance approach to speeding, then it would be in public interest for these new camera to be clearly identified by being painted in a bright colour, as has been done for a number of years.
